Gene's logic went like this:
Cuzncindy has mentioned on
many occasions she would like to see St Croix. St Croix is south of Fort
Lauderdale and there were planes leaving for the Carribbean from Fort
Lauderdale in the early evening. But why the cold weather clothes? The
highest point on St Croix is only 700 meters. Not nearly high enough to
get cold. Cuzncindy let slip that Gene should think about someone that
has recently moved. Ok that is easy. Gail and Cr just moved from
Glendale to Payson which is much higher and at this time of year is
quite cool in the evenings. Cuzncindy had that deer in the headlights
look when Gene told her Phoenix is nearly 700 miles further NORTH than
Fort Lauderdale. Back to the internet airline pages. There was a direct
flight to Phoenix on America West. And it just so happens America West
is associated with USAir. Cuzncindy had just cancelled her tix to go to
North Carolina on USAir. Gene just knew the trip was going to Payson
Arizona.
Then at the airport we went
to the wrong terminal. We were travelling Southwest Air. Cuzncindy got
Gene checked in and through security without him knowing the
destination. We were so early the destination wasn't on the gate yet. W
e had lunch and then it was there. We were going to Houston Texas! Nope
that was the flight before ours. Finally it came up. We were going to
Tampa and then Manchester.
Back to see Ed and Sharon in
Derry, New Hampshire.
Cuzncindy has been trying to
see the fall colors. This time we timed it right.

The nearest we came to St Croix was an
advertisement for rum from St Croix we found in the restaurant where we
whiled away the hours until our flight left. Cuzncindy was fascinated
with a green eel in a fish tank in the gate area and took a lot of pix
trying to capture it with its mouth open.
