Summer New Hampshire
Another long weekend
with Ed and Sharon.
August 2004 |
| |
We have visited with Ed and Sharon in
fall and winter and have had a blast every time. As it
turned out, summer was no exception. CC wanted to pick
blue berries and we planned to see the end of season
fireworks display in Jaffery. |
| |
| But most of all we went for
the gastronomic rewards and to relax. In this regard the
trip was an unqualified success. |
Ed and Sharon conspire to
feed us yet again ... |
... ribs! And they were good too.
| |
Ed closely monitors the ribs. The beer was used
merely as a timing device to know when the ribs were
done. (Ribs should be grilled on low for about 2 beers) |

Ed disappears back into the kitchen to
bring more food while the womenfolk start on the
appetizers. |
| |
After a supreme and greatly appreciated
effort the chef rests. |
| |
| We had heard
much about the construction of a new screen porch which
was finished shortly before our arrival. |
| The weather was
great, the porch got a lot of use, day and night. |
CC wanted to get some blue berries. So a
blue berry hunt was organized and after only a few hours
she had enough to take home and last probably a life
time. |

For as long as I have been coming to visit,
Sharon and Ed have told me of the abundance of moose in
New Hampshire. And in spite of many miles of driving in
the country side I have yet to see one. But on the last
day of our visit at Manchester airport my patience was
rewarded. There in the airport lobby stood the biggest
moose you could ever want to see. |
