 We decided to have a nice peaceful relaxing weekend in the keys. Cuzncindy's plan was to get up early so we could be on the road at 6:00 am so we could arrive in Key West early and start relaxing. We could laze around the pool until our room was ready  

I explained to her that you don't hurry up when the plan is to relax. So we left at about 9:30 and had a leisurely trip down through the keys.

We stopped for lunch at the World Wide Sportsman in Islamorada.

Look! Look! See the huge tarpon. Take a picture of it, please, please.

         

 

Cuzncindy has wanted to see the Mel Fisher Museum every time we have been in Key West but it has been closed.

This time we got there, it was open and finally we got to see it.

After Mel's place we did the touristy things, walked Duval Street, looked at the T-shirt shops, the locals and the other tourists.

We made the mandatory visit to Mallory Square but were about 6 hours too early for the sunset.

         

Wings and beer for lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe on Duval Street. One of us got pretty messy but the wings were good and the beer was cold. What more could you want?

We didn't make it back to Mallory Square for the sunset but this is what it looked like from the hotel.

We didn't see the green flash.

Monday we bought the fixings for a picnic lunch and headed out for home about 11:00. Remember it was Memorial Weekend. The traffic was as bad as we expected. It took us 6 hours to get from Key West to the Causeway off Key Largo.
