Dorsi Botka

When she checked in at the Gate, her track record was good.
She loved and protected like small guard dogs should.
The wag of her tail, and her bark at the mail, we'd
love to have it back if we could.
But now she's above, where she guards us with love,
and waits to be joined again.
We've lost a friend, but it's not the end because she
has made amends.

A twinkle of hope and a glimpse of the past reflected
in cataract eyes.
Now she can see where we all hope to be, amongst the
stars in the sky.
The memories of our canine friend, embedded in photo
album minds.
Heidi, we love you and always will.
We'll never say good-bye.

She gave us Molly, and a morning routine, and those
stories you'd had to have seen.
Up on the table or crossing a highway, the excitement
she felt was keen.
The paw & half roll over, how we'll miss her two
tricks.
And cleaning Molly's ears, her nurturing lick.

So we hope you are watching from doggy heaven above.
Curled up on a cloud or a star of love.
Please send us a memory or doggy dog shove.
Now you're as free as a dove.

We'll know it is you and may cry or just sigh.
You were the very best dog, and we can't say good-bye.

Now you're a star in the sky.
